SHIFTING WINDS

Shifting Winds is my historically powerful, yet contemporary interpretation of the Wild West’s most famous and infamous characters, stories and mysteries. Painting from images that I emotionally and symbolically connect with, I am able to meticulously incorporate personal and intimate details into each piece using my extremely innovative “blind grid” process.

This collection of portraits interweaves a contemporary twist on some of America’s most intensely confronting, non-romanticized imagery of the West. Through my use of repeated and evocative patterns, I am able to transform several mini abstracts into one complete and edgy historic painting reminiscent of America’s forbearers.
